Robert Adams shares history of Rotary Foundation

We were pleased to have Rotarian Robert Adams speak to our club at the Luncheon meeting on November 6th. Below is a summary of the information he provided:

The Rotary Foundation was founded in 1917 with the purpose of “doing good in the world” It has grown to having over $1 billion dollars in assets. The members of the Chatham Rotary Club have been supporters of the foundation since it’s inception. Part of the money that is given is returned in the form of grants for special local projects. Our club has used grants to complete several projects over the years including rehabbing Silas Moore Park in Chatham and constructing the “Dog Park” at the new Pittsylvania County Pet Center. This year’s project will be sprucing up Rotary Park.
